• RT Revival

I'm taking the next few weeks off, but don't fret I'll still be around and still be posting some classic reviews from my Rotten Tomatoes days. Enjoy!

  • Happy Two Year Anniversary!

Two years ago I wrote a review of a film I didn't like, a film which has turned into the most read review in this site's two year history. Now it's time for the sequel...

  • A Wolfman Revival

The Wolfman hasn't had a successful film since his arrival on the silver screen in the 1940's, so how does the 2010 version stack up?

  • Connery The Cat Bugler

Sean Connery co-stars in another unheard of film, this time as a low level criminal turned big time insurance collector for the mob.

  • Crash & Burn

Penned as the funniest movie of 2005, I simply scratch my head a wonder was there even any other comedies in 2005? There must not have been, because all Wedding Crashers has going for it is the lovely and talented Rachel McAdams.

Carnival of Souls (1962)

When it comes to B-movie horror films it's best to have something either quite bad, to the point it's humorous, or a film that's actually quite entertaining. But so often is the case that the result lingers somewhere in between, therefore being just plain boring and quite a pain to stomach. Carnival of Souls is about a group of girls whose car drives off a bridge while racing against a couple of guys. Amazingly one of the girls survives but her life seems to be completely changed, as she becomes totally anti-social and is haunted by hallucinations of a strange looking man. A man who wants to bring her to an old abandoned carnival, a Carnival of Souls!

Carnival of Souls starts out rather interesting but quickly begins to drag on with the only suspense in the film being the ghostly guy who randomly pops up to some rather annoying organ music. The whole strange plot is a decent idea but it's something more fit for a 30 minute Twilight Zone episode, not a feature film stretched out to 90 minutes which tends to become old fast and predictable even faster.
